MR safe label obtained for several Orfit products

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is becoming increasingly important in radiation oncology. (earlier post: The increasing need and interest in MRI in radiation therapy).

To be MR safe, patient positioning and immobilization devices cannot contain materials that are electrically conductive or magnetic.

Orfit recently obtained the MR safe label for the following products so they can be used safely in an MRI environment:

• The new Orfit High Precision Lung Board that is used for thorax and lung treatments with the arms extended above the head.
• The low density and regular density Orfit High Precision Head Supports.
• The Orfit SBRT Solution (with exception of the pump for inflating the pressure belt).
• Fixation devices to attach the immobilization devices to the couch top.
